Every Claru project has its own eligibility requirements. Before joining a project, make sure you meet all of the listed requirements.

Your project's Getting Started Guide and Project Page are always the source of truth for the latest requirements.

What kinds of requirements are there?

Each project may have different requirements, including:

  • Location – The country or region you must be located in.

  • Device – Approved phone models or other required devices.

  • Equipment – For example, a head mount or other accessories.

  • Recording requirements – Minimum recording length, video quality, or other technical requirements.

  • Activities or tasks – The type of work you are asked to complete.

The project's Getting Started Guide and instructions always contain the most up-to-date requirements.

If you don't meet a project's requirements, your work may not be approved for payment.

How do I know if I'm eligible?

Open the project from your Projects page and review the eligibility requirements before getting started.

Depending on your profile (such as your country, device, and other attributes), you may be automatically invited to certain projects. In some cases, there are also public projects available that anyone can access, though these often require you to pass a short qualification first.

If you meet all of the listed requirements, you can participate in the project.

Device requirements

Each mobile recording project has its own list of supported devices.

Before recording, check the Phone Requirements section on the project's page to make sure your device is supported.

Which phones are accepted?

Every project has its own approved device list.

  • A phone approved for one project may not be approved for another.

  • Newer phone models are not automatically accepted unless they are specifically listed.

  • The project's Phone Requirements are always the most up-to-date list.

What does "Unsupported Device" mean?

If you see Unsupported Device, your phone is not currently approved for that project.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to participate in that project unless you use a supported device.

How do I check which phone I have?

You can usually find your phone model under Settings → About Phone (Android) or Settings → General → About (iPhone).

Compare your device with the list shown on the project's page.

Can I use a VPN or change my location?

No.

If a project has location requirements, you must participate from your actual country or region.

Using a VPN, selecting an incorrect country in your profile, or attempting to bypass project restrictions may result in your recordings being rejected and your Claru account being permanently suspended.

I think I'm eligible, but I can't see the project

There are a few common reasons why a project may not appear:

  • Your country is not eligible.

  • Your profile information is incomplete or incorrect.

  • Your device is not supported.

  • The project requires an assessment that you have not completed.

  • The project has reached capacity or is no longer accepting contributors.

If you believe you meet all of the requirements and still cannot access the project, please write to us through the chat.
