Completing your Getting Started checklist

The three steps on the dashboard checklist — the tour, joining a project, and payment setup — and why the payment step has no button for team members.

The Getting Started checklist sits on your dashboard Home page and walks you through three steps — taking a short tour, joining your first project, and adding your payment details. A progress bar shows how many steps you have completed.

Do I have to complete the steps in order?

Not strictly — it is the buttons that work in order. Only the current step's button is active, and later steps show a greyed button until you reach them. The steps themselves complete automatically, though, so if you join a project or add your payout details another way, the step is marked complete regardless of order. Completed steps are marked Done.

How do I complete the tour?

Click Start tour to open a short five-slide guide called Welcome to Claru. It explains how Claru works: picking up a project, passing any assessment, capturing and submitting footage, and getting paid. Click through to the last slide and select Got it — let's go, and the step is marked complete straight away.

How do I join my first project?

Click Browse projects to open My Work and join a project that suits you. Some projects ask you to pass a short assessment first — retakes are free and unlimited. The step completes automatically once you have joined an active project. See Checking whether you are eligible for a project.

How do I complete the payment step?

Click Add payout and enter your payout details. The step completes automatically once your payout account is active — this is not always instant after you save your details. For the weekly schedule and the 50 USD minimum payout, see How and when you get paid.

Why does the payment step have no button for me?

If you are part of a team or agency, your team lead holds the payout account on behalf of the whole team, so there is nothing for you to set up. The checklist shows the payment step with a dashed icon and an explanation instead of a button. The step is not counted towards your progress, so you can still finish the checklist by completing the other two steps.

What happens when I finish?

The card collapses and the heading changes to You're all set up. Your earnings and projects remain on the dashboard, and you can collapse or expand the checklist at any time using the Collapse and Expand controls.

What if the checklist does not load?

If you see Couldn't load your checklist, click Try again.
