Mobile recording projects only accept specific phone generations, and the list of accepted devices is set separately for each project. The app checks your phone model automatically before you can record.
Which phones are accepted?
Each mobile recording project has its own list of accepted phone generations, chosen by the project team. The rules work like this:
Each requirement names one exact phone generation
Tier variants of an accepted generation — Plus, Pro, Pro Max, Ultra and similar — are also accepted
Newer generations are not automatically accepted — there is no "this model or newer" rule
Your phone qualifies if it matches at least one requirement for its platform
This means a newer or more capable phone can still be ineligible if its generation is not on the project's list.
Where can I see a project's requirements?
Open the project page and look for the Phone Requirements card, where shown. It lists the devices accepted for that project, introduced by the line "To qualify for this project, you must have a phone that meets this spec:".
Only the iOS (iPhone) and Android entries are enforced by the app. Devices listed under GoPro, DJI or Other are shown for information only.
What does "Unsupported Device" mean?
If your phone does not match any requirement for its platform, the mobile app shows an Unsupported Device block. This is a hard block on recording for that project — you will need an accepted device to record.
The device names shown in the app can occasionally look different from the friendly names on the project page — some Android entries appear as a raw model code (such as a Samsung "SM-" code) rather than a marketing name. They refer to the same requirement.
How do I check my device model?
You do not enter your model yourself — the app reads it directly from your phone, so the check reflects what your device reports about itself. To find out which model you own, look in your phone's settings (usually under an "About" section) or check the original box or receipt, then compare it against the project's Phone Requirements card.
Do requirements vary between projects?
Yes. Accepted devices are chosen per project, so a phone that is blocked on one project may be accepted on another. If you see the Unsupported Device block, check the Phone Requirements card on other mobile recording projects — your phone may still qualify elsewhere.
