On some projects, selected contributors are given a reviewer role and are paid to check other contributors’ submissions. This article explains where your assigned reviews live, how to give a verdict, and how review work is paid.
What is the reviewer role?
Reviewer is a per-project role assigned by the Claru team — you cannot apply for it or assign it to yourself, and on any given project you hold one role only. If you are a reviewer on a project, its card on your My Work page shows a single Review button instead of the usual submission options.
Where do I find my assigned reviews?
Clicking Review on the project card opens that project’s To review queue — the list of submissions assigned to you that are waiting for your review. The Assigned column shows roughly when each one entered your queue. Submissions are shared out automatically among the project’s reviewers, so you only ever see your own assignments. There is no combined queue across projects; each project has its own.
How do I approve or reject a submission?
Open a submission from your queue to see the work exactly as the contributor submitted it, alongside the review controls:
If you are rejecting, choose a rejection reason from the dropdown — a reason is mandatory for every rejection and is shown to the contributor
Add a review comment if you want to give feedback — this is optional for both verdicts
Click Approve or Reject to submit your verdict
After each verdict the next assigned submission opens automatically. When your queue is empty, you are returned to the reviews list — you will see a confirmation that all reviews for the project are complete, and the empty queue shows No annotations to review — you’re all caught up. Nothing has gone wrong; it simply means there is nothing left for you to review.
Is my verdict final?
Yes. Once you approve or reject, the item leaves your queue permanently. Approve marks the work as Approved and clears it for payment to the contributor. Reject marks it as Rejected and returns it to the contributor with your chosen reason, so they can fix and resubmit where the project allows it.
What should I check before approving?
Watch for warning banners at the top of the review screen. If a submission has been rejected before, a banner tells you how many times — pay close attention to whether the earlier problems have been fixed. If you see the banner Machine QA did not run — this submission is unverified, review the footage in full before approving.
How is review work paid?
Each project sets its own review rate, shown on the project card with the per review label — review pay is set per item, not per hour. Once your reviews have been processed, the earnings appear in your payout balance and are paid out with the rest of your earnings: balances of 50 USD or more are processed every Tuesday. See How and when you get paid.
If you review as part of a team or agency, rates are not shown to team members — your team lead holds the payout account.
What happens if I do not get through my queue?
Assigned reviews that sit untouched for several days may be reassigned to other reviewers, so contributors are not kept waiting. Work through your queue regularly to keep your assignments.
