Payments for team and agency members

How payments work when you join Claru through a team or agency, and who to ask about your earnings.

If you joined Claru through a team or agency, your team lead holds the payout account for the whole team. Your earnings are paid to your lead, and payment arrangements are handled between you and them.

Who receives my earnings?

Your team lead. Earnings from your approved work are paid into your team lead’s payout account, and payment arrangements are handled between you and your lead. You do not need — and will not be asked — to set up a payout account of your own.

Why are rates and amounts hidden?

Because your team lead manages payment, Claru hides money-related details from team member accounts:

  • Project rates are not shown on project cards

  • The Earnings card on your dashboard shows a dash instead of a balance, with the note “Reach out to your agency lead for your balance”

  • The Payments page shows your balance as N/A and asks you to reach out to your agency lead

  • The Payout Methods section reads “Annotation payments will be managed by your agency”

  • Payment history is not shown for team members

This is normal for team members and does not mean anything is wrong with your account.

What about the Getting Started checklist?

The Add your payment details step is switched off for team members. It appears greyed out with the message “Your team lead manages payouts for your team, so there’s nothing to set up here”, and it does not count towards your checklist progress. Complete every other step as usual.

What can I still see?

Everything about your work. You can still see your projects, your submissions and their statuses — In review, Approved or Rejected — and your completed task counts per project on the Payments page. Only rates, amounts, payout settings and payment history are hidden.

Who do I ask about my earnings?

Your team lead. They hold the payout account and can see the amounts owed across the whole team, so questions about your balance, your rate or when you will be paid should go to them first. Payout timing and requirements for team members are managed by your agency.

How is team membership set up?

Team membership is arranged between your agency and Claru — there is no self-serve way to join or leave a team from your account. If you believe you have been added to a team by mistake, or you have left your agency, contact our support team.
